Ramesh Patel – DUKE OF GLOUCESTER 1964-1967

These were the best years of my life in school and would like to go back in time again. I have tried to remember the following and hope you do so

Sobhag and I have been in the same class right from the start of the school which was E Class and we used to say that we are doing Engineering as the classes where from A to F

I started knowing Sobhag more in form 3 as we used to sit on the last bench row I had a job in the school canteen in year 3 and 4 and used to serve soft drinks in the recess the other person from our class who also had the canteen job was Pankaj {bap} who is sadly no more with us

Sobhag used to ask me to save a very cold coke whenever he wanted one in recess and that is how we came to know better Remember putting Cofresh peas into coke and then drinking it. Oh, that tasted so good I got popular in the school because of the canteen job as I used to look after my friends.

There are couple of incidents I have not forgotten in form 4 class particularly when Sobhag was smoking in class before the teacher entered As he was sitting near the window on the last bench he managed to put the smoke and the cigarette out of the window in good time.

Sobhag if you remember that you sat with Dinesh {mona} and I sat in the next line with Dilip {the Monitor and prefect} in the last row as usual

Sobhag if you remember that I was a cross country runner and I won the trophy, and everyone wanted to hold this and take a photo including you 

Sobhag used to be in a hostel and if you still remember that you placed a hot iron on someone’s bum and if I am correct it was our classmate Rasik

The final year was one of the best as we all got on with each other

Swimming was not Sobhag’s sport, so you used to miss this period. Of course, with an excuse

PITI ASHWIN I WHO USED TO SIT WITH FULCHAND [NARENDRA] ON THE FIRS DESK AND WERE CAUGHT PLAYING WITH THEIR SHOES JAGU REAL NAME JAGDISH MAHENDRA HOSTEL GUY MEO RAMESH PRAVIN VERY QUIET GUY RAJNIKANT DILIP SHORT CHOTU SHASHIKANT RASHMIKANT  THIS GUY NEVER USED TO SAY ANYTHING AND USED TO COME TO SCHOOL WITH A DRIVER YOU DEFINATLEY WILL REMEMBER CHANDNI IN FORM 5 AS SHE WAS THE ONLY GOOD LOOKING GIRL  AND THIRI”S DAUGHTER WHO HANDGED OUT WITH THE HEADBOY

MATWAJI WHO USED TO OPEN THE WINDOWS AND LET THE CLIMATE COME IN ISMAIL DAIRYWALA OUR 4TH FORM CLASS KILOMETER THE GUJARATI TEACHER TO WHOM WE USED THROW INK ON HIS NEW SUIT WHEN HE WAS NOT FACING US SIDU SINGH KAAN CUT THE PHYSICS TEACHER AGARWALL KAPILA THE TALL LADY TEACHER LOVERINE WHITE YOUNG TEACHER SHIEK RHINO
