The chief legal officer of any state, or any other official of the state authorized by law to sue on behalf of residents of a state, may, on behalf of residents of that state, bring a civil action as parens patriae in a U.S. district court having jurisdiction to enforce this paragraph or impose civil penalties for violations of this paragraph. if the senior legal officer or other official of the State has reason to believe that the interests of the residents of the State have been or will be threatened or prejudiced by a violation of this subsection or any provision of this subsection.
Susan had a party line that she shared with 3 other households. Much to the frustration of the other 3 subscribers, Susan loved using the phone and was often there for hours. When Olive picked up the phone to call 911, Susan was on the phone. Olive explained the situation and asked Susan to leave the phone. Susan, who did not believe Olive, refused. Olive ran down the street to a neighbor`s house and was able to use the phone.
Sadly, Louis passed away due to the delay in 911 contact. Susan could be charged with unlawfully refusing to give a party line. However, because people are still as polite and understanding as they should be, New York has a law that requires you to abandon a party line when the line is needed to make an emergency call. In other words, if the phone is needed to call 911 because a house is fine, the law requires you to end your call so that the emergency call can be made. Under Section 270.15 of the New York Penal Code, you will be charged with unlawfully refusing to give up a party leadership if you refuse to hang up after being informed that party leadership is required to make an emergency call. An emergency call is defined as a call to the police, fire department, ambulance service or medical assistance necessary to save a person`s life or property. If APIs are available on the Site without a separate license agreement, Gulf Partyline hereby grants you a non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, non-transferable, limited license to use the APIs solely for the benefit of Gulf Partyline customers. You assume all liability arising from any use of the APIs. Gulf Partyline makes no commitment to the continued availability of APIs and you have no rights to upgrade versions or support of any kind. Gulf Partyline may revise or discontinue the APIs at any time in Gulf Partyline`s sole discretion without notice. NOTWITHSTANDING THE FOREGOING, COPYING OR REPRODUCTION OF THE APIS FOR REDISTRIBUTION IS EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED. These Terms govern your use of the Site and constitute the entire legal agreement between you and Gulf Partyline with respect thereto. Additional or different terms and notices may apply to certain components of the materials offered on the Site.
In the event of a conflict, these additional or different terms, conditions and notices shall prevail over these Terms. Please refer to the applicable agreement or notice. Gulf Partyline reserves all rights not expressly granted under these Terms, including intellectual property rights, and no other rights are granted by implication or estoppel or otherwise under these Terms. Gulf Partyline may update these Terms from time to time. Gulf Partyline will revise the “Last Updated” date at the end of these Terms if this is the case. It is your responsibility to periodically review these Terms. Gulf Partyline`s failure to enforce any right or remedy contained in these Terms or applicable law shall not be deemed a formal waiver of such right or remedy, and such rights or remedies shall continue to be available to Gulf Partyline. If any provision of these Terms is held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the remaining provisions of these Terms shall not be affected. Except as otherwise required by law, all legal matters arising out of these Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to conflict of law provisions, and you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of the parish of East Baton Rouge, Louisiana. You acknowledge that Gulf Partyline may seek injunctive relief in any jurisdiction. There are no third-party beneficiary rights under these Terms.

For example, if someone is sick but not seriously ill, you would not have illegally refused to abandon a party line if you had refused to give up leadership so that another person could use it to make an appointment with a doctor. (a) A person commits the crime of refusing to launch a party line if he deliberately refuses to resign from the leadership of a party immediately after being informed that he is needed for an emergency call.
