If you use a car with SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification), you technically do not need to drive a vehicle with a valid tax or roadworthiness test. If this is the case, it cannot be taken on any public land on the way to private land. But what if you don`t get the higher mobility benefits or don`t have direct access to private land? Well, there are still ways to ride under 17! If you are over 70 and want to continue, you will need to renew your driver`s licence, but you will not have to repeat your test. The minimum driving age varies depending on where you are in the world. In general, you must be between 16 and 18 years old to obtain a full driver`s license: the one that allows you to drive unsupervised on public roads. If you have or have applied for the advanced mobility aspect of the PIP (Personal Independence Provision) or DLA (Disability Living Allowance), you are allowed to drive at the age of 16.
