Lockheed Martin`s Sikorsky business is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to support the Future Vertical Lift (FVL) market segment, one of Sikorsky`s five market segments. Sikorsky is a division of Lockheed Martin`s Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) business unit focused on rotorcraft development, production and support. This position will report to Sikorsky`s General Counsel and is located in Stratford, CT, at Sikorsky`s head office (remote work will be approved during the current pandemic, but the position is expected to require a location in Stratford, CT in the future). The FVL market segment is responsible for capturing and executing future vertical lifting programs across the U.S. government. These include the Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA), Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA) and the Joint Multi-Role Rotorcraft Program. This includes all aspects of large-scale aircraft capture, as well as managing complex team agreements and executing OTA (Other Transaction Authority) agreements. His main responsibilities are: Act as an integral member of FVL`s management team to work with clients by providing sound legal advice and risk mitigation measures to ensure successful business outcomes. Requires a very high level of knowledge and experience with U.S.

government contracts to achieve business objectives, resolve complex legal issues, and collaborate on business decisions and risk mitigation. Assist in the continuation, negotiation, execution and eventual closing of major U.S. government framework contracts, partnership agreements and supplier negotiations. Extensive experience in identifying and managing bid challenge risks in complex procurements. Extensive experience, judgment and ability to work both independently and in a team. Strong communication skills (written and oral) for clients and executives. Provides autonomous problem solving and decision-making with experience of when issues should be raised for resolution by Sikorsky General Counsel and RMS. Ability to build strong client relationships while maintaining independence worthy of a compliance function.

Provide internal training to clients and colleagues, as required, and support diversity and inclusion initiatives, as well as other company-wide initiatives related to continuous improvement. MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE Basic Qualifications: JD degree from law school accredited and admitted to a state bar association as a practicing lawyer of good reputation. At least 7 years of experience as a lawyer in a law firm, in-house counsel or government agency. Desired Skills: 10+ years of experience in a law firm, government agency, or legal department of a major defense firm involved in U.S. government procurement. High Level of U.S. Government Contracts (FAR/DFARS) Knowledge and experience Experience in complex negotiations with the U.S. government, suppliers and teammates Experience in the aerospace industry BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Employment.
