Legal Gras Deutschland

Smoking weed in a joint is not yet legal in Germany. With the announced legalization of cannabis, this could change. Bolivia chose this option: “Bolivia withdrew from the UN Convention, legalized coca pellets and then reunited them,” says Kouparanis. The problem: this process takes time. Germany should have withdrawn from the agreement by July 1 in order to achieve legalization in 2023. Heiãt: Buschmann`s plan for “next year`s first joint” is no longer possible – at least if Germany opts for it, according to the most realistic model, but also full of question marks. Medical marijuana is legal in 37 states and Washington, DC (as of February 2022). [123] Two companies in Germany are already licensed to grow cannabis. What are the chances of cannabis being legalized in Germany in general and what is the legal situation in other countries of the world? Cannabis is the most popular illegal drug among young people and adults in Germany. Ten percent of all youth have used cannabis. This number has almost doubled in the last ten years. Cannabis is not one of the “hard drugs” like heroin or crystal meth, but smoking weed is not completely harmless.

At first, it is only a joint from time to time, but it can turn into an addiction. Experts estimate that about ten percent of people worldwide who use cannabis have disturbed consumption behavior, i.e. are addicted. This can lead to physical withdrawal symptoms, but most importantly the psychological and social consequences of cannabis dependence can be severe. The possession and cultivation of cannabis is still illegal in Germany. The exceptions, however, are medical cannabis and the active ingredient cannabidiol (CBD) derived from the female hemp plant. These active ingredients can be purchased legally in Germany. In North Korea, marijuana and hashish are classified as illegal drugs like heroin and cocaine.

However, THC-free or low-THC wild hemp prison is openly marketed as a cheap tobacco substitute. North Korea officially uses industrial hemp for the textile and food industries. [101] Coalition circles have already stated that they have already agreed to start directly with the “Canadian solution”: cultivation, processing, wholesaling and trade will be legalized simultaneously and could take place in Germany after the introduction of the law. The parties justify this approach by the fact that “quality is controlled, the transfer of contaminated substances is prevented and the protection of minors is guaranteed,” according to the coalition agreement of the SPD, Greens and FDP. Federal Agriculture Minister Cem Özdemir (Greens) added: “The planned legalisation would relieve the police. It could then focus on combating the black market and the trade in hard drugs. According to the Berliner Morgenpost, the managing director of the hemp association Cannabis expects legalization in the coming years. In a video of the hemp association is about ten to fifteen years the speech. The pioneer is the United States, where more and more countries are legalizing cannabis. In the future, this change should also reach Europe.

But first you have to involve the big parties. The CDU and SPD are still clearly opposed to the legalisation of cannabis. The growing community for legalization will have to continue to convince. However, there seems to be hope again. In the future, there is a realistic chance of legal possession of cannabis in Germany. Medical cannabis is legal in South Africa. [105] Legal cannabis will then be offered by licensed dealers. According to Federal Justice Minister Marco Buschmann (FDP), anyone who wants to sell cannabis for recreational purposes must prove their knowledge of the drug and the associated risks. Pharmacies, for example, could serve as outlets. In 2018, the Northern Mariana Islands became the first U.S. territory to legalize the possession of small amounts and the licensed production of recreational and recreational cannabis products.

[125] In 2019, legalization followed in the outer territory of Guam. [126] This law, which replaces the previous Acts 6.378 and 10.409, states, among other things, that possession and use of illegal drugs are no longer considered a crime and therefore cannot be sentenced to imprisonment. Until now, Brazil has faced sentences of six months to three years in prison for drug possession. Instead, less repressive means can now be used to try to influence illicit drug users. In particular, warnings, supervision by social workers or the obligation to perform community service may be considered as means. The government also wants to put more emphasis on drug checking models. These include contact points where, for example, revellers have the quality and purity of illegally purchased drugs tested anonymously in order to better assess the dangers. The 2021 coalition agreement of the traffic light government provides for the upcoming legalization of cannabis in Germany. “Smoking weed,” as it`s colloquially known, could therefore become legal.

When, however, is not clear. In Switzerland, cannabis falls under the Narcotics Act and is illegal. In the late 1990s, authorities in many townships tolerated the sale of marijuana as a “perfume bag” in hemp stores. Basel was particularly known for its liberal drug policy, where at rush hour there were more hemp shops than bakeries. However, the amount of sales made has led to a rapid increase in crime among suppliers. Cases of extortion, threats and robbery have become more frequent. This provided the police with the main reason for the extensive raids between 2002 and 2003, during which almost all hemp shops were closed. In September 2018, the Constitutional Court of South Africa legalized the cultivation of cannabis for personal use as well as the use of cannabis outside the public sphere. [106] According to the results of the 2019 epidemiological survey on drug addiction, about seven percent of all adults aged 18 to 64 in Germany have used cannabis within a year, and among 12- to 17-year-olds, it is even eight percent.

The proportion for all other substances is significantly lower: 1.2% of adolescents and 2.3% of adults used another illegal drug in one year. The fact that joint smokers automatically switch to other, harder drugs is not given by these figures. When will cannabis become legal? There are also legal aspects to this issue. Does the traffic light comply with a UN agreement or circumvent it through a new study? In some countries, such as Portugal or parts of Spain, consumption is decriminalised, i.e. authorised for private consumption. In the Netherlands too, the possession, cultivation and sale of cannabis is illegal, contrary to popular belief. Several countries such as Malta or Luxembourg are currently considering legalization. Cannabis is still a controversial topic. The laws are not always clear.

Medical cannabis is already available by prescription without major effort. German voices for legalization are growing. A questioning is also underway in other countries of the world. There is a good chance that cannabis will also be legal in Germany in ten years.
