§ 7721. Operations on roads and highways. In general, it is illegal to operate a snowmobile or ATV on a road or highway that is not designated and marked as a snowmobile or ATV route by the appropriate government agency. A snowmobile or ATV can ride on highways and roads: Ohio requires all motorcyclists to wear eye protection, and cyclists under 18 must wear a helmet (as well as older riders with a beginner`s license). However, these laws do not apply to “a car bicycle or motorcycle enclosed in the driver`s cab if the passenger compartment surrounding the occupants is installed.” § 663.037. Prohibition of operation on public roads. The driver of an off-highway vehicle may drive the vehicle on a public highway, highway or highway that is not a public highway or a highway to which access is restricted to cross those highways. The driver of an off-highway vehicle may not drive the vehicle on a shared highway that is not a highway or a restricted access highway only at an intersection of the highway with another highway, another road or another highway. The driver of an off-road vehicle may operate the vehicle on a highway, road or highway that is not a highway or restricted highway if: ATVs used on Georgian state roads are motor vehicles and, as such, are subject to uniform traffic rules. § 40-6-3 No off-highway vehicle shall be operated on public highways, roads or highways of this State, except for crossings, emergency conditions or for agricultural purposes. No off-highway vehicle may be operated on public land unless the property is intended for such use. Colo. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 33-14.5-108 Ohio also requires the use of helmets and eye protection for drivers driving on public land and roads. There are no regulations on head coverings or eye protection on private property. 46.09.442. Off-highway Vehicles on Wheels–Metal Trailer–Off-Road, On-Road Registration, Tabs. A person who drives an all-terrain vehicle on a public highway must hold an up-to-date and valid registration and a valid driver`s licence. 46.09.444 ATVs shall not be used: at a speed greater than that which is reasonable and reasonable having regard to the existing conditions, or in a manner that unnecessarily endangers the person or property of others, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs. A person under eighteen years of age may not drive or drive on public or state lands without a protective helmet on an off-highway vehicle. § 31-3.2-7 Operation.No person shall operate a snowmobile or recreational vehicle on the track, interior bank or slope of a highway in that State or elsewhere in the right-of-way, except as otherwise provided in this chapter.
No snowmobile or recreational vehicle may operate at all times in the right-of-way of any road or highway in this state.
