The State of Delaware uses this method to first calculate your taxes. This method is calculated on the basis of the number of approved actions. The calculation is as follows: All companies registered in the State of Delaware are required to file an annual return and pay a franchise tax. Tax-exempt domestic companies do not pay tax, but must submit an annual report. The annual reporting fee for all other national corporations is $50.00, plus taxes due when the annual report is filed. Taxes and annual returns must be received no later than March 1 of each year. The minimum tax is $175.00 for corporations that use the authorized share method and a minimum tax of $400.00 for corporations that use the presumed par value capital method. All businesses that use either method have a maximum tax of $200,000.00, unless it has been identified as a large corporation filer, their tax will be $250,000.00. Taxpayers who owe $5,000.00 or more pay estimated taxes in quarterly instalments, of which 40% are due on June 1, 20% on or before September 1, 20% on December 1 and the remainder on March 1. The penalty for not submitting a completed annual return by March 1 is $200.00 in interest of 1.5% per month will be applied to unpaid tax credits. An annual franchise tax return is sent directly to the company`s registered representative. Empty franchise tax returns are not available.
The Delaware Corporations Division will require that all annual tax returns on franchises and other corporate taxes be filed electronically.
