Seniors Legal Hervey Bay

Larry Bell Through his personal experiences with friends and family many years ago, Larry realized that there was a real need for senior-specific legal advice. This may include delegating responsibility for decision-making to loved ones or planning for elder care or assisted care to meet the needs of sick loved ones. Larry has decades of experience in estate planning and his keen interest in changes in this area of law led him to become involved with the Queensland Law Society`s estate committee. For more information on community legal services in Queensland, see clcs.org.au/ or communitylegalqld.org.au. BDB is aware that legal problems can arise with age, the solution of which requires legal expertise. In 2000, Larry Bell founded our Legal Care for Seniors/Elder Law service, which helps seniors with dignity with the legal and emotional challenges of aging. If you are a victim of elder abuse or feel you have been abused or financially exploited, help is available. Eleven legal and seniors` support services provide free legal advice, information and social work to people over the age of 60. BDB has developed expertise specifically tailored to the legal advice of our seniors in care, housing and succession planning. Elder Law is about looking at the law through the lens and experience of aging. There are many life events associated with aging that may require a legal perspective. The Seniors Legal and Support Service (SLASS) serves the Fraser Coast region and supports seniors who are victims of abuse or exploitation.

The service aims to prevent elder abuse through education and advocacy. The Seniors Legal and Support Service is managed by the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre.
