As a Lawyer (Employment), you will report to the Deputy General Counsel and support the employment law team in all areas of employment law, from litigation support to consulting and advising the firm. You`ll help the team take the pulse of the evolving legal landscape and help Riot navigate potential landmines in many of Riot`s jurisdictions. As EMEA (Employment) Legal Counsel reporting to the Associate General Counsel, you will support EMEA activities with a focus on employment law, from consulting and advising the firm to litigation support. You`ll help the team take the pulse of the evolving legal landscape and help Riot navigate potential landmines in many of Riot`s jurisdictions. About the position We are looking for an experienced lawyer as Senior Labour Counsel for our area of activity. You will advise our business and talent teams on legal and strategic issues. Responsibilities: • We expect this role to focus on employment by 65-70%. The remainder will consist of general works on commercial law. • Provided general support to Riot`s talent team on a variety of issues related to company policies, company training, recruitment practices, compensation practices, temporary staff, and other employee relations matters.
• Work closely with executives and sales teams to provide advice on international regulations, cross-jurisdictional collaboration and cross-functional with commercial teams to implement policies and manage a variety of employment disputes and demands. • Contributes as a generalist to non-employment related legal issues, including trade agreements and technology transactions, and other non-employment related issues. We expect the role to include 30-35% general commercial legal support. Required qualifications: • University degree and legal qualification with the ability to practise law in at least one EEA/UK country. • 4+ years of legal experience after qualifying in labour law. Desired Qualifications: • Preferably a mix of commercial law firm and in-house experience. • Multinational experience in the Internet, technology or gaming industry. • A solid understanding of regulatory trends in the EU and UK, with a strong focus on employment law, and experience in advising on regulatory implementation in collaboration with sales teams is also beneficial.
